[Growth Hub] Create Resource Price Rules

Set up and activate resource price rules in Growth Hub to control booking prices by time of day and day of week.

Written by Yasen Marinov

You can use resource price rules in Growth Hub to adjust booking prices by time of day and day of the week for individual resources or resource types.

This article explains how to create, configure, and activate a resource price rule. It also covers rule precedence, so you know how overlapping rules are applied across different resources.

Summary

  • Resource price rules let you adjust booking prices by time of day, day of the week, and resource scope.

  • They are only applicable in the Growth Hub storefront and are not displayed in the Member Portal.

  • When creating a rule, you define its name, description, resources, and active period.

  • Time and day-of-week adjustments are applied as percentage increases or decreases.

  • The most specific rule (single resource) always overrides broader rules (resource type).

  • Active rules cannot overlap on the same resource at the same time.

Before you start

Price rules apply only to bookings made through your Growth Hub storefront. They are not displayed on the Member Portal and do not impact bookings created through the Admin Portal.

Create a resource price rule

To create a new resource price rule:

  1. Go to Growth Hub > Dynamic Pricing > Resource Price Rules and click Create Rule.

  2. Enter a name and a description for the rule. They will only be visible to you.

You can see the rule name and description on the Resource Price Rules page:

  3. Select the resources to which the price rule will apply.

    1. Select the resource type: In the list, you will see all your bookable resource types.

    2. Select the individual resources to which the rule will apply. Leave the field empty to apply the rule to all resources of the selected type.

  4. Define the active period for the rule. You cannot have two active rules that apply to the same resource(s) simultaneously.

  5. Click Add Time & Day-of-Week Rule to create the rules for the price changes.

  6. First, select the day of the week when you want to adjust prices.

  7. Then, enter a percentage to adjust prices by. You can either increase prices (enter a positive number) or decrease them (enter a negative number).

  8. Turn on Select time of the day to apply price adjustments only during the selected time(s) of the day. If you want the price adjustments to apply throughout the day, leave the toggle switch off.

  9. Define the period by selecting the From and To times.

  10. If you want to apply the rule on another day of the week, click + AND and repeat steps 6–9.

  11. To delete a day and time of the week rule, click the delete icon.

  12. When you're ready, click Save.

  13. You can see a preview of the rules and edit or delete them.

  14. In the Summary section, review the price rule before creating it.

  15. Click Create. The rule will not be activated, and you can verify it at a later time.

  16. If you want to activate the rule right away, click Create and Activate.

Rule precedence

If a rule overlaps during any period with another rule, you will see a warning message under the Summary. It will inform you that your rule will apply only to some of the resources you have selected.

The rule precedence works as follows:

  • When rules overlap, the rule with the most specific scope wins. Specific rules (targeting individual resources) have a higher priority than Global rules (applying to all resources of a given resource type).

  • If both a global rule and a specific rule are active during any period, the specific rule will apply to its resources, and the global rule will apply to all the other resources of that resource type.

For example, if you have a global rule for a 10% discount on all meeting rooms and a specific rule for a 20% discount on Meeting Room A. Only during the period when both rules overlap:

  • A 20% discount will be applied to Meeting Room A.

  • A 10% discount will be applied to all the other meeting rooms.
