Add extras to meeting room bookings

Create a one-off service plan, set its price, add a photo for your storefront, and attach it to the rooms it applies to.

Availability: All Flex plans

A member books a room and then emails to ask about coffee. That is a sale you have to chase and a service your booking flow never offered.

Extras are one-off service plans you attach to a resource rate. Members see them as options in the booking dialog and pick what they want while they book.

An extra is a plan like any other, so it carries a name, a price, and an image. Pricing an extra at 0 makes it complimentary, and it still appears as an option.

In this article:

  • Create an extra as a one-off service plan

  • Add a photo that Growth Hub shows on your storefront

  • Attach the extra to a resource rate

  • Review what members see when they book

Prerequisites

A resource rate must already exist for the meeting rooms you want to offer extras on. Create a resource rate →

Create the extra as a one-off service plan

An extra is not its own object type. You build it as a one-off plan, then attach it to the rooms it applies to.

  1. Go to Billing > Plans.

  2. Click Add Plan and select One-off.

  3. Set Plan Type to 'Service'.

  4. Enter a name and a price for the service. Enter 0 to make the extra complimentary.

  5. Click Add.

Add a photo to an extra

An extra can carry its own image, set on the one-off plan that defines it. Growth Hub shows that image on the storefront, so buyers see the service rather than a line of text.

Open the one-off plan you created and click Upload on the General tab to add an image. The image appears on the Growth Hub storefront wherever that extra is listed.

Attach the extra to a resource rate

An extra exists but reaches nobody until a resource rate points at it. The rate controls which rooms offer which services.

  1. Go to Billing > Resource Rates.

  2. Click the resource rate for the meeting rooms you want to offer the extra on.

  3. Open Extras and select the services to offer.

  4. Click Update.

What members see when they book

After a buyer selects a membership plan or bookable resource, extras appear as a selection step before payment. Buyers can:

  • Browse booking extras grouped by category

  • Set a quantity for each extra they want to add

  • See all selected extras itemized in the order summary

Note: When members purchase extras and plans, they can edit quantity only during setup, not during checkout.

FAQs

Can I add a photo to an extra?

An extra can have an image. Set it on the one-off plan that defines the extra, and Growth Hub displays it on the storefront.

How do I make an extra free?

Enter 0 as the price when you create the one-off plan. The extra still appears as an option in the booking dialog and adds nothing to the booking fee.

Why does an extra not appear when a member books a room?

An extra only appears on rooms whose resource rate lists it. Open the resource rate for that room and check that the extra is selected under Extras.
